Organic Cous Cous Wholewheat
Organic wholewheat couscous is a nutritious pantry addition. It is a good low GI source of carbohydrates and fibre and it very low in fat.
How to Use
Try cooking couscous with stock rather than water for added flavour.
To cook: Place 1 cup of couscous into a heatproof bowl, add 2 tsp virgin olive oil and 3/4 cup hot vegetable stock (or water). Cover and leave for 4 mins. Fluff up couscous grains with a fork, season and serve.
For variety you can also add any of the following before adding chicken stock, grated lemon zest or finely chopped preserved lemon, a pinch of cinnamon, chopped dried apricots, sultanas and pine nuts, or shredded fresh mint.
