Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a root vegetable from the broccoli family that looks similar to a turnip. The root is harvested, washed, ground, dried (slow at low temperatures) and then milled into a fine powder.
Given that Maca is a root – it has an earthy taste. Some describe it as nutty with a slightly bitter note. The fresher your Maca the better it tastes. Again, we only use the freshest, best quality Maca grown and harvested in Peru.
